Let’s highlight 3 really cool food items this week.

 1. The poblano pepper is a popular Mexican chili pepper, very dark green in color, ripening to dark red or brown. They are mild, large, and heart-shaped.

2. Broccoli Raab, also known as Rapini (in Italian) is a member of the cabbage family. Similar to most greens, broccoli rabe stores well in a plastic bag in your crisper drawer for 3 to 5 days. The stalks, leaves, and blossoms of the plant are all edible -- you’ll just want to trim off the base of the stem, as it can be woody. If you end up with thick-stemmed broccoli rabe despite your best efforts otherwise, simply shave or peel a bit of the stem-like you would with beefy asparagus stalks.

3. Delicata Squash
Can you eat the skin of the Delicata squash?
Yes! The skin is edible. Delicata squash tastes so good simply roasted with salt, pepper, and olive oil, there isn't much need to do anything else!

We are hosting our first ZOOM event!  Our new friends at The Olive Scene are going to lead us through an Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar tasting!!

As you can imagine, there are depths and layers to these items that we just don’t get from commercially produced versions of oil and vinegar.

If you want to join us for 60-90 minutes of a virtual tasting tour, order the kit that we will be using and plan on having some fun for your taste buds.

We have some amazing partnerships happening right now that will carry us through the winter...think aprons from our favorite clothing designer, coffee week, and of course the best holiday bundles of the best food in OHIO!
