Box #43

If the temperature is droppin', don’t come a knockin'…

(That doesn’t even make sense but I couldn’t think of anything to relate to the cold, gray, wet weather moving in.)

EXCEPT maybe comfort food!

Think squash, sweet potatoes, beets, and apples...slow cook, oven roast, add some spices like cinnamon and cardamom and nutmeg and you will start to smell and taste the flavors of the season.

The sun may leave us, but the Yellowbird never will.  We are going to be here for you every week of the winter (sans Thanksgiving and Christmas week), and we will make sure that you have FOOD SECURITY and PROPER NUTRITION.

We send out a lot of communication so I sometimes forget to keep telling our new members about things...but the #1 piece of feedback we get is…

“I WISH I COULD PICK WHAT WAS IN MY BOX!”

We hear you...AND...we want you to know that we have an online store that has over 800 items on it for you to choose from.

I think lots of times we all get stuck thinking we HAVE to order one of the weekly box sizes...let me continue to tell you...WE DO NOT have to order the weekly boxes.  Those boxes will always be our bread and butter because it is what we think is the best stuff available that week...but we also know that for many of you, it doesn’t work with your lifestyle.

For example, this week we have over 60 produce items up on our store!!

It would make us, and our growers, just as happy if you went in and BUILT YOUR OWN box.

It makes me even more happy when you discover it for the first time and you reply with...“WHAT?!?!?  You sell cheese, meat, dips, snacks, grains, milk, fish, butter, eggs, and everything else I could possibly want sourced from Ohio farms, grass-fed, pasture-raised, organic, NON-GMO, Gluten-Free, Vegan, Kosher, and everything else in between?!?!?”

Quite simply, the answer is…”Yes, yes we do.”

Also, Turkey Countdown...21 (half turkeys) left...Who knows birds better than the Yellowbird?
