BLACK RADISH!!

Seems like every week we have one “show stopper” type product and this week we are blown away by the black radishes.  Mile Creek Farm over in New Lebanon, OH has been a new partner with us this year for many of your great products and this is one of their beauties.

Another cutie puh-two-ty this week are the “mini mebutternut squash.  In years past we have had butternut’s that were so big they needed their own box and so we asked Andy Yoder to grow us these honeynut’s.  You are going to laugh when you open the box and see these things...and you might go….”Ahhhhh, they’re so wittle.”

Everyone is going to get at least 1 jalapeno this week.  I tried something last week that I will definitely do again.  I cut it in half and squeezed a little of our Blue Jacket Arrowhead Chevre into it.  (you could also use cream cheese)  On top of that I sprinkled some of our marble cheese from Pearl Valley and then popped it in the oven at 400 for about 12 minutes.  It was so good.  I ate it alongside a salad and then did it again the next day with 3 jalapeno’s for lunch.  It’s a quick little “treat yo-self”.

WE FINALLY HAVE WINTER PLANS FINALIZED AND WE WILL GET THAT TO YOU ON THURSDAY OF THIS WEEK!  (planning takes about 3 weeks longer than it used to)

NEW ITEM OF THE WEEK...Doc’s Fusion Fuel 



One of our long time members has been making hot sauces and giving them to us as presents for years.  He finally combined his love of “Back To The Future” with hot peppers and made “Doc’s Fusion Fuel”.  When I taste tested it, the first thing I picked up was maple, followed by smoke, followed by hot...but yummy hot.

Storage: Store on your counter.

Storage:  Place the wrapped greens in a glass food storage container in a cooler part of your fridge, like a crisper or towards the back. This is your best bet for not only preserving your greens but keeping them the most fresh. Option two: Place your washed and dried greens in a loosely sealed reusable food storage bag.
