Week #49

While the white snow falls outside our doors, we are packing boxes that are full of the most vibrant colors.

Green and Red apples, Purple/Yellow/Red beets, Rainbow carrots and radishes, and tons of fresh Greens!

Our Ohio farms are still producing LOTS of wonderful food and it gives me confidence to say that our FOODSHED is stable, no matter what the news headlines say.

Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about your Christmas meals.  Next week's deliveries will ACTUALLY be the week before Christmas.

Now, this year Christmas is on a Saturday, so we WILL BE delivering your orders that week as well so you will have plenty of time to do some last-minute shopping for both GIFTS and GROCERIES.
**Erin will be sending out specific delivery schedules at the end of the week

Stay tuned to our social media pages and our emails for all the amazing food and merchandise specials so that you can spread your “locavore” love around this year.

*A foodshed is the geographic region that produces the food for a particular population. The term is used to describe a region of food flows, from the area where it is produced, to the place where it is consumed, including: the land it grows on, the route it travels, the markets it passes through, and the tables it ends up on. "Foodshed" is described as a "socio-geographic space: human activity embedded in the natural integument of a particular place."[1] A foodshed is analogous to a watershed in that foodsheds outline the flow of food feeding a particular population, whereas watersheds outline the flow of water draining to a particular location. Through drawing from the conceptual ideas of the watershed, foodsheds are perceived as hybrid social and natural constructs.
