Week #17

We are closing in on two great holiday’s...Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day!

For Cinco de Mayo, we partnered with Shagbark to bring you a bag of Corn Cracker Mini’s to use for your favorite dish.  This week I would add these items to my cart to make sure I could at least make nacho’s.

For Mother’s Day we have partnered with the world’s best sugar cookie producer, Wholesome Valley (think St. Pattie’s Day clover cookies), to bring you a fun way to tell mom that she is the best.

The food this week is awesome...we are starting to see some of our favorite spring products...radish’s, cilantro, blueberries, spinach, field lettuce (vs. hydro), and the first little bits of asparagus.

Not everyone will get ALL of these items THIS week but you will ALL for sure see them in the coming weeks.

(As you know, we are fully dependent on Mother Nature, and last week when she decided to gift us one more snow, the production slowed down dramatically, especially on asparagus)

Never fear, Spring is here!

Meals This Week Look Amaze...balls!

For your lunch, for the soccer game, for the book club, for the netflix binge, for the hike, for the hammock...

The first week of our “grazeable” subscription was so successful we have already started adding and forming new ideas around what we can include each time...remember, you get to pick what you want in the box!

*A foodshed is the geographic region that produces the food for a particular population. The term is used to describe a region of food flows, from the area where it is produced, to the place where it is consumed, including: the land it grows on, the route it travels, the markets it passes through, and the tables it ends up on. "Foodshed" is described as a "socio-geographic space: human activity embedded in the natural integument of a particular place."[1] A foodshed is analogous to a watershed in that foodsheds outline the flow of food feeding a particular population, whereas watersheds outline the flow of water draining to a particular location. Through drawing from the conceptual ideas of the watershed, foodsheds are perceived as hybrid social and natural constructs.
