My FAVORITE item of the year is finally here…

The very first year of building the Yellowbird I tried many things that I had never tried before.  Because we get a lot of the same item over and over, I had to keep it fun for myself and for the customer by trying things that I had never had before...OR...trying to cook things in ways I had never tried before.

So the year went on and I had many things for the first time...Plums, Mullberries, PawPaw’s, Ground Cherries...and then the one that stole my heart...ASIAN PEARS.  They came in from Glen Hill and I casually took a bite just to see what they tasted like, and the explosion of flavor that hit my pallet and my brain has never left me.  I tell my kids all the time…”Candy is trying it’s best to impersonate the pure flavors of nature.”...and this is definitely one of them.

There are some super cute pumpkins coming at you to decorate or cook.  You know you can cook any pumpkin right?  It’s just squash...My wife literally just blasts open the huge jack-o-lantern pumpkins and lays the giant pieces out on a pan and cooks it.  I think she even cans it and then uses in soups and pies and cookies and bread...she’s a queen.

We are working on a couple things:

1. Adding more and more products to the store.  We now have fruit leather, mustard, crackers, tomato sauces, and sundry items...always adding more.

2. A coupon that we are going to include in your box to give you a discount on your store orders...of course we are trying to get you to use the store and buy more stuff...it’s for your own good.

3. Our FALL poster...we haven’t forgot.  Look for it in an upcoming box...as always, courtesy of @scriptonefour
WINTER SCHEDULE!!

4. TURKEYS are up on the store.  There are between 30-40 of them this year.  Pick the size you want and we will get them to you in the last couple weeks leading up to Thanksgiving.
