Week #49

If you take nothing else away from this newsletter, let it be this.

WE ONLY HAVE 2 WEEKS (including this one) to order food before Christmas.

WE WILL NOT BE DELIVERING FOOD CHRISTMAS WEEK.

You can order food and gifts this week to be delivered next week.  Then, you can order next week to be delivered the week after that...THEN IT’S CHRISTMAS!

Again,

Order deadline - Saturday 12/5 @ midnight for delivery 12/9-12/12

Order deadline - Saturday 12/12 @midnight for delivery 12/16-12/19

CHRISTMAS WEEK...NO DELIVERIES

Order deadline - Saturday 12/26 @ midnight for delivery 12/30-1/2/21

And then back to our regularly scheduled programing

In 2020 we will have spent about 1.5 MILLION BUCKS with our local farms and producers.

You read that right...MILLION.

Each of us contributed to a small portion of that in order to get our box of produce every week...or your milk and eggs, or your Thanksgiving turkey.

We started the Yellowbird in 2013, by personally growing about 12 varieties of veggies for 7 people.  That dream of changing our little part of the planet, has blossomed into a vision that each of you is taking to your own little parts of the planet.

I know that you don’t get to see these men and women each week like we do, but trust me, when you shake the hand that feeds you...and also write them a check for what their food is worth, lives are being changed.

Soil is being changed.  Carbon is being recycled properly.  A trusting relationship between grower and eater is being established in a way that allows the person growing our food, to feel like have a team of people behind them urging them on to do the HARD WORK, to make it all work RIGHT...not for short term gain, but for long term sustainability of the planet.

IT's Beggining to look a LOT like CHRISTMAS!!
