Week #9

WINTER SPINACH!!

This is the “sexy” item of the week…

Side Bar...was I right about those yellow tater’s last week?

Winter spinach is some of the most flavorful and nutrient dense greens we can be eating this time of year.  It also has a “sweet” flavor that only develops in cold temperatures.

I had an idea I would like to run by everyone.

What about a quarterly “shareholders” meeting?  Virtually of course to start but maybe even at some point in person for anyone interested.

In case you don’t know, YOU are the shareholders of this company.  I would love to create a ZOOM call that we could dial into together.  I would give a 10-20 minute “state of affairs”, and then we could open it up for a discussion and Q and A.

We have a LOT of things happening in the next year that are going to affect our shareholders in a positive way and this might be the best way to talk about some of them.

Next week’s box is our world famous “Pi Day” box.

Pi = 3.1415 OR 3.14 OR March 14th

For Pi Day, we have traditionally done a “Pizza Pie” box…

Soooooo...next week you will see almost all of the ingredients for making a pizza.

What we need you to do is, go in THIS week and put together any orders that you want to go WITH or ON your pie.  Meat, veggies, herbs, special sauce, side dish etc.

Here are a few that we enjoy!

And don't forget about these kinds of PIE's

And back to Pizza...
*A foodshed is the geographic region that produces the food for a particular population. The term is used to describe a region of food flows, from the area where it is produced, to the place where it is consumed, including: the land it grows on, the route it travels, the markets it passes through, and the tables it ends up on. "Foodshed" is described as a "socio-geographic space: human activity embedded in the natural integument of a particular place."[1] A foodshed is analogous to a watershed in that foodsheds outline the flow of food feeding a particular population, whereas watersheds outline the flow of water draining to a particular location. Through drawing from the conceptual ideas of the watershed, foodsheds are perceived as hybrid social and natural constructs.
